Leaders of the Month Awards
These honors recognize students who have shown outstanding leadership by setting a positive example, serving others and demonstrating responsibility. The Leaders of the Month inspire their classmates through their actions, encourage teamwork and consistently demonstrate integrity in both their work and character.
The Leaders of the Month for February are being recognized and honored for their work on a proposed new event that will bring community and benefits to Banner Christian.
Eighth-grader Annalise Davis (pictured right) is being recognized as our Servant Leader of the Month for her initiative, reliability and willingness to serve wherever she is needed. Annalise has stepped into the role of assistant director for Mrs. Trettel, helping with preparations for the upcoming spring production through her involvement in both Middle School Drama and Tech Theater.
She consistently offers her time and talents behind the scenes to help ensure things run smoothly. In addition, Annalise serves as an active member of the Forge Team, helping plan and lead Bible Buddies, and she also played a supportive role on the Talent Show team.
Annalise’s quiet dedication and servant-hearted attitude make her a wonderful example of leadership in action at Banner Christian.
Seventh-grader Israel Granell is being honored as our Servant Leader of the Month for the way he quietly leads by example in his daily life. Israel demonstrates a sincere commitment to growing in his relationship with God through regular Bible reading and study, showing a genuine desire to strengthen his spiritual life
and draw closer to the Lord.
His choices reflect thoughtful character and a desire to honor God in both big and small decisions. Israel is also known for being a kind and dependable friend, encouraging those around him and setting a positive example for his peers. His faithfulness, integrity and steady pursuit of what is right make him a wonderful example of servant leadership at Banner Christian.
Athletes of the Month Award
Below, please find a look at the achievements of Banner Christian's varsity boys' basketball squad and individual player accolades.
Banner Christian's boys' varsity basketball team has been named Athletes of the Month after an incredible season capped off by winning the Virginia Independent Schools' Athletic Association Division IV State Championship.
The team demonstrated outstanding talent, hard work and leadership throughout the year, earning multiple individual honors along the way. Freshman Locke Bailey was named the VISAA Division IV State Player of the Year, while head coach Jerron Athey earned coach of the year honors for his leadership and dedication. Senior Izaiah Robinson took home first-team all-state accolades. Fellow Senior Xavian Bagley garnered second-team all-state recognition.
Together, this group represented Banner Christian with excellence and made this season one to remember for Bearcat basketball.
