Banner Christian School's visual arts program for PreK4-12 students is a journey through various artistic mediums, reflecting the belief in creativity as a divine attribute. From the early stages, lower school students engage weekly with art, exploring basic concepts and techniques. As they progress to middle and high school, art becomes an elective, offering deeper exploration into drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and printmaking. Students experiment with clay, papier-mâché, watercolors, and oil paint, gaining a comprehensive understanding of artistic principles and media.
In this program, art is more than skill development; it's a spiritual journey. Recognizing God as the ultimate Creator, students learn that their creativity is a reflection of His image. This perspective infuses each project and lesson, aiming to develop not only artistic talent but also spiritual understanding. The program's goal is to cultivate both technical skills and an appreciation for art as a means of expression and worship.
