Bible Buddies Program Promotes Camaraderie, Connections

Mentorship initiative helps spur student growth on a variety of levels.

Banner Christian Bible Buddies ministry and mentorship program

Through the beloved and widely popular Bible Buddies program, students have the opportunity to establish impactful friendships and bonds.

Through Bible Buddies, eighth-12th-grade students have the opportunity to establish mentoring relationships with Lower School students via teaching a Bible lesson and engaging in various games, crafts and activities with them on the first Friday of each month. These monthly visits often lead to lasting friendships. Our parents love this ministry!

The March Bible Buddies and Middle School small groups theme focused on the implications of Jesus's death on the cross. Eighth through 12th-grade students taught lessons to Lower School students. Additionally, sixth and seventh grade students participated in small groups highlighting the love of Jesus as demonstrated by His willingness to die for our sins so that we can be saved and reign with Him in eternity. Students were encouraged to apply this sacrifice to their lives in the form of embracing what Jesus did for us and living each day in the light of this love and forgiveness.

Bible Buddies helps students learn to be more like Jesus through teaching, mentoring relationships, and modeling. As Banner Christian celebrates two decades as a school, one of our themes for the 2023-24 academic year is `celebrating 20 years of God’s faithfulness,' based on Lamentations 3:22-23: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Programs like Bible Buddies and small groups help us grow together as we learn to be faithful as He has been to us.
