Our home volleyball match on Friday, Oct. 16 versus Millwood School was the junior varsity squad's 'Dig Pink' game as the program highlighted breast cancer awareness.
The junior varsity team wore pink uniforms as a way of showing our schoolwide conscientiousness in regard to the ongoing fight against breast cancer, the second leading cause of cancer death in women in the United States. Admission fees from the event will be donated to a nonprofit that supports families battling cancer.
In honoring breast cancer awareness, some members of Banner Christian's girls’ volleyball team took in Liberty University’s girls’ volleyball match in Lynchburg on Friday, Oct. 9 as a part of the Flames’ ‘Dig Pink’ awareness night.
Scripturally, the month centers on Psalm 73:26: "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
