Excitingly, Banner class members, comprised primarily of ninth and 10th-graders, and two 11th-graders, really enjoy the process of exercising. Moreover, they are starting to grasp the concept that they do not need to be in a gym to exercise. Sometimes, just going outside for a walk is helpful.
Currently, students are looking at what it means to be healthy on the inside. Additionally, Health and Wellness participants have been studying the principle of spiritual healthiness. One of the important lessons class participants are learning is that in order to be spiritually healthy, they need to be diligent in their prayer life and spend time in the Word of God.
Once, and sometimes twice per week, students will spend the last 5-10 minutes of class soaking in the outdoors. Importantly, when students go outside, they have the opportunity to move and be active, illustrating their commitment to exercise. This past week, students did 45 jumping jacks every minute for a total of eight minutes.
We will let you figure out how many jumping jacks that totals!
