Banner Christian's cross country team made school history by claiming its first Virginia Colonial Conference Cross Country Championship on Nov. 4. The event was held at The Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Catholic School.
The Bearcats had plenty of outstanding performances, including from sixth-grader Mackenzie Early, who won the girls' 5K by setting a personal record in the event at 21 minutes, 32 seconds. Mackenzie impressed the entire season and was named the Virginia Colonial Conference Runner of the Year—congratulations, Mackenzie!
Additionally, sixth-grader Sofia Ford (pictured above right) set a personal record in the 5K, finishing in 21 minutes,
46 seconds and placing second in the event. Meanwhile, 10th grader Colby Harrington (pictured right) established a personal record in the boys' 5K with a time of 19 minutes, 44 seconds and took home a sixth-place finish. For their performances, Early, Ford and Harrington were selected to the All-VCC team.
