Tenth grade U.S. history students recently traveled back in time to become delegates at the Constitutional Convention.
They participated in a two-day simulation that allowed them to learn more about key issues by acting as Constitution delegates to create their own version of the Constitution. Students met with fellow state delegates from Virginia, New Jersey, South Carolina and New York to discuss issues in the framework of each state's best interest. Class members worked together to create a compromise that all states could sign off on.
The class enjoyed the friendly, and sometimes passionate debate as well as the competition that this simulation required.
