Athletics

Our goal is to provide an atmosphere where student-athletes can develop their physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual gifts through the avenue of athletic competition. "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own" - 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Athletics play an important role in fulfilling Banner Christian School’s mission to “educate and develop the whole person for the glory of God.” Our goal is to provide an atmosphere where student-athletes can develop their physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual gifts through the avenue of athletic competition.

There are life skills and life lessons unique to those who participate in athletics. Banner Christian desires to assist parents and guardians in being a catalyst that helps student-athletes develop a lifestyle of Christ-like character, commitment, integrity, self-discipline, strong work ethic, teamwork, achieving goals and leadership that will help them be successful now and in the future, after their athletic careers are over.

Colossians 3:17 states “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Interscholastic sports at Banner Christian School gives student-athletes the opportunity to honor and glorify the Lord to those in attendance with the gifts and talents He has given them. Whether it be the court, field, course or track, we have the ability to share the Good News of the love and hope we have in Jesus Christ. Through competition student-athletes also learn to rely on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as they face adversity and challenges with a courageous spirit. Colossians 3:23 states "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." One of the other great benefits about the athletic program at Banner Christian is that it enhances the atmosphere of the school, providing students and parents with an opportunity to express positive school spirit.
