Banner's sixth-grade students recently had a blast getting a behind-the-scenes tour at the television station 8NewsABC 8News - WRIC in Richmond. They were excited to learn about the news-gathering process and get a special sneak peek at how a broadcast gets aired.
The group asked questions along the way and gained knowledge that can be integrated into both their literature and science classes.
Students were intrigued about the weather forecasting process, graphics creation, and how a meteorologist delivers the forecast on air using the green screen. It's quite the production!
Special thanks go to WRIC morning meteorologist Matt Dinardo and news anchor Delaney Hall for taking time out of their busy schedules to welcome and educate our group.
