Fifth Grade Teacher

Roberta Phillips brings a wealth of experience to the classroom, boasting a remarkable tenure of over 20 years in the field of education. Her journey in teaching has been a diverse and fulfilling one.

During her children's formative years, Roberta took on the role of a part-time educator at the private school they attended. Here, she skillfully imparted her knowledge in music and drama, leaving an indelible mark on her students.

As her children grew, she decided to pursue her passion for teaching more fervently. Roberta returned to college, embarking on a new academic chapter that led her to the public schools in Virginia. Her dedication and hard work culminated in her earning a Master of Science in Education and acquiring a Special Education license. For seven years, she lovingly served as a special education teacher, demonstrating her commitment to students with unique needs. Later, she transitioned into a classroom teacher role, spending nine years guiding and nurturing young minds.

Now, in her first year at Banner Christian School, Roberta looks forward to bringing her extensive expertise and passion for education to her fifth-grade students, making it a memorable and enriching experience.
