Director of Athletics

Zach Coyle, our Director of Athletics at Banner Christian School, originally hails from Middlesex County, New Jersey. His journey to Virginia and Banner began in 2014 when he started his academic pursuit at Liberty University. After graduating, Zach spent four years working in college athletics at both Liberty University and William & Mary. The call to join Banner came at a pivotal moment, coinciding with his wife's completion of law school at Regent University. In the summer of 2022, they both moved to Richmond, and Zach began his journey at Banner.

Zach's academic background is rooted in Liberty University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in sport management and his master's in business administration. His passion for his field of work is deeply personal, as athletics played a vital role in his own growth during middle and high school. The life lessons he acquired through sports have left an indelible mark, shaping the way he approaches both his work and life in general.

Choosing a career with Banner Christian was driven by the opportunity to be part of a premier Christian school with top-tier academics. The alignment of academics and athletics at Banner has been an exceptional experience for Zach, emphasizing the importance of both aspects.

Zach's unique approach to his role is defined by his youth. He believes that his age allows him to relate effectively to the students at Banner. He sees it as his responsibility to set an example as a young professional who chooses to follow God, a vital lesson for students to witness in faculty and staff, especially those close to their age.

Outside of work, Zach treasures spending time with his wife, traveling on weekends, and enjoying the company of friends and family. Running and home improvement projects are among his hobbies, but what he enjoys most is the time spent at home with his wife. In the demanding role of the Athletic Director at Banner, home becomes a sanctuary for rejuvenation.

Zach Coyle's dedication to nurturing character through athletics and his commitment to living out his faith make him a memorable and impactful figure at Banner Christian School. His youth and relatability serve as an inspiration for students, demonstrating the importance of following God in all aspects of life.
