Director of Parent and Student Engagment

McKinley Burkett serves Banner Christian School as the Director of Parent and Student Engagement, where she works to create meaningful connections between families, students, and the school community. Her role allows her to support a culture where students feel valued, encouraged, and inspired to grow.

Raised in Moseley, Virginia, McKinley grew up at Banner Christian and carried its lessons with her through college and into her career. Returning to Banner feels like coming home, and she is grateful for the opportunity to invest in the next generation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, before continuing her education at Liberty University, where she completed a Master of Science in Sport Administration. After graduation, she remained at Liberty University, working as the Director of Operations for Olympic Sports, where she honed her skills in leadership and program development.

McKinley is passionate about fostering Christ-centered leadership in young people. She believes deeply in Banner Christian’s mission to integrate faith with education and is honored to continue that legacy as both an alumna and a staff member. For her, investing in students means preparing them not only for academic success but also for a lifelong walk with Christ.

Outside of her work, McKinley enjoys playing soccer, spending time with family and friends, and indulging in the occasional afternoon nap. She also treasures time with her pet cat, Kitty, and loves travel—dreaming of destinations like Rome, Italy.
